Porters' News Flash!

Youngsville, NC- The Porters' will be leaving on vacation in just one week. The palace guard dogs will be boarded so that the Mr. and Mrs. may travel to North Myrtle Beach, SC, and enjoy some time away from work. The excitement rings through the air in the palace as the countdown has begun till time to leave. The Mrs. reports their plans for the week away, "I think laying on the beach sounds like the best plan to me, but I know we'll get into something! We always go to the Cherry Grove Pier, eat out a couple of nights, and I hope to catch a sunrise! We aren't planning on doing too much running around- kind of negates the purpose of a vacation. My family will be down there at the same time, so hopefully the chaos level will be minimal so that we can still relax and just enjoy being on vacation together!"

Meanwhile, the Mr. and Mrs. continue to work with the guard dogs in an effort to bring peace amidst the sudden clash of personalities and in making decisions concerning alpha-male status in the palace. A behavior specialist has been contacted in an effort to control the recent disputing. "It's frustrating," is the Mrs. response,"we left for a weekend and they were best pals. We came back, and now they can't even be in the same room together. We are checking into having one of them neutered, pending who we think the alpha-male is. They are just fine when they are apart, back to the same big babies." Thankfully, palace neighbors have not yet placed complaints in response to the increase in barking.

In other palace news, the Mrs. recently receive an encouraging work evaluation and raise in pay. Celebration of this news have been minimal in an effort to continue saving palace funds for the Mr. to start his second year at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, this fall. However, the Mrs. wishes to send out this message,

"God has truly blessed me with this job. It's providing for my family and giving me the opportunity to serve and love others well. I would have been fine without a raise- and that just is showing confidence that God knows what he's doing and is my ultimate provider. It's all for his glory."
Stay tuned for more news to come.
