The year 2010 has begun in the Porter Palace. Our inside reporter states the palace expects a lot of activity during this first month of the new year! The Christmas decorations have been taken down (see pictures above) the furniture has been rearranged, and the Mr and Mrs are preparing for some possible big changes this year.
First! The rumors are true! The Mrs's parents have purchased a beach condo in North Myrtle Beach, SC. This is sure to be a future frequent destination for the Mr and Mrs as they are the closest family members (with keys) to the luxurious vacation spot.
Second, the palace is hoping to undergo more construction in the coming months. Decisions are being made as to what will be remodeled, but according to the Internet usage records, frequently visited websites have included Home Depot and Lowes, and searches for kitchen countertops, flooring, and landscaping.
Third, the Mr has been moved to an active reserved status as a 1LT in the US Army. The Mr will begin drilling with a local reserve unit one weekend a month and two weeks out of the year. The Mr is also planning to register for the 4 week session of Chaplaincy training during June at Fort Jackson, SC.
Finally, our inside reporter found on the Mr's Facebook account a recent status stating that the Mr's New Year's resolution is to "make wife pregnant." This has astounded the inside reporter who had not heard of any traces of such announcement. However, it was quickly denied by the Mrs on Facebook who quickly commented that she "disapproved" and thought the Mr's status was "ridiculous." Is this a sign of major drama and miscommunication in the Palace? We will certainly be updating you more as this story progresses.
The month of January will indeed be busy for the Mrs. Her duties at her position outside of the Palace will have her tied up over the next few weeks, and opportunity for inside contact is likely to be slim.
